Hubei Turquoise takes its name from the Hubei province in northern China, where turquoise has been mined and used in carvings and works of art for more than 2,000 years. Its history reaches back to China’s earliest dynasties, and even Marco Polo wrote of turquoise found in the region that is now Sichuan.

The name turquoise comes from Renaissance France, when Europeans were introduced to the stone through Turkey, carried along trade routes from Iran. Long valued as a healing and protective stone, turquoise continues to carry a sense of history, travel, and quiet strength.
